JETRO -Startup connection hub-
Works at the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a government-affiliated body dedicated to bridging foreign and Japanese companies. Currently focused on promoting open innovation within Japanese corporations by engaging with global startups, connecting Japanese startups with international VC/CVCs and angel investors, collaborating with overseas accelerators and incubators, and organizing events that strengthen ties between foreign and Japanese startup ecosystem builders.
Ilya Kulyatin
Building an AI hub in Tokyo
An entrepreneur and passionate community builder with a strong belief in the power of human connection. With an interdisciplinary academic background in Business (BSc), Finance (MA), and Machine Learning (MSc), and a decade of experience as a Quantitative Researcher in Finance, he brings a unique perspective to the startup world. He has co-founded two Fintech startups—one bootstrapped, one VC-funded—and has lived and worked across 7 countries on 3 continents. Now based in Tokyo, he is dedicated to contributing to the city’s growth as a thriving hub for startups and AI innovation.
